Chicken & Bacon Gnocchi

Image
So first of all, yes, the blog is back. But this time I have a slightly different idea of what I want to post. I want this to be a place I can write my recipes and perhaps the odd book review too. Feel like adulthood has definitely hit hahah. I probably wont be frequent, especially when things get back to normal (I'm hoping for one or two posts a month). I'm always cooking so tbh I shouldn't have an excuse. So with that said I'm going to dive straight in with a v delish recipe I made the other day and it went down a storm. My Chicken & Bacon Gnocchi serves 4 Ingredients; 2/3 chicken breasts (diced) 6 rashes of bacon 500g gnocchi 150ml extra thick cream 300ml vegetable/chicken stock salt and pepper basil & parsely 2 garlic cloves 1 onion I'll keep it short & sweet... Cut the 6 bacon rashes into cubes and fry off until at the desired texture and then remove from the pan, ready to use later. Fry the chopped

Outfir Post: Layering

Image
A massive trend at the moment is layering, especially when it's been cold. However, now that it's getting slightly warmer and I can put the big winter coat away I'm having much more fun again planning outfits as I feel like I've got a lot more to work with. I thought it would be the perfect time to try to layer with some new dresses I've bought . So over the last two weeks I have worn these outfits and wanted to share them. The bases of the outfits are very similar, changing up the main piece and accessories. Both outfits are linked on my 21 Buttons account if anyone would like direct links to the items. My first outfit is based around a zebra print satin dress, which is actually from Primark...in the lingerie section at £11. A Bargain - considering at more high end shops this type of dress sells at £25+. I saw this on Keavy Gales post (another blogger)and the next time I went to Primark made sure I purchased it. I Got an XS (6-8) it fits fine, though I pr

Childhood Arthritis

Image
Arthritis is mainly associated with adults and when I've told people that I suffer from it, I normally get, "What, arthritis?" or "Isn't that what old people get?" And yeah I thought that too but that's not the case. Childhood Arthritis is very rare compared to adult Rheumatoid or Osteoarthritis and the cause for it is unknown.  The most common type of childhood  Arthritis is Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). This was my diagnosis and it was also 'polyarticular' meaning in more than five areas. It can make it harder for children to do everyday tasks such as dressing and walking and in the worst cases can result in disability. Although there is no permanent cure you can achieve permanent remission, where the disease is inactive. I first realised that something was wrong when I was in year seven at secondary school and I couldn't press the palms of my hands flat together, which for any eleven year old should be easy. I told my

Our Anniversary Meal

Image
I swear as you get older each year goes round quicker and quicker. So April 9th myself and Callum had been together one year. We decided to celebrate we would go for a meal and went to The Butchers Block in Burham, Rochester. The Butchers Block were also recently finalists in the Taste of Kent Awards, 'Kent Dining Pub or Bistro of the year'. So we were in for a treat.  We decided to share a starter, mainly to ensure there was room for dessert and we were very happy we did when the biggest halloumi fries were served to us. They were huge. The halloumi fries came with a gorgeous garlic butter like dip which was so rich. Honestly the best I've ever tried, hands down. So for mains I went for the classic butchers block burger, which was so yummy! The chips were also unreal, I feel you can really judge a restaurant on their chips and these were perfect! Callum went all in...He got a T-bone steak with peppercorn sauce and then we shared onion rings. He was so happy wit

A Few Of My Favourite Things

Image
Today I grace you with a favourites post. Going to show you a few random bits. May do a bit more of a themed post in the future. Specifically for makeup or food but for now its a bit of a mish mash. Mac Pigment - Tan I've found this to be my go to at the moment. I've had a few shows with college recently and always seem to reached for this for a smoky eye. It is very flattering on green eyes and such a great formula to work. I find using a bit of setting spray to wet the brush works best for me and lasts the longest as well as preventing downfall. Winky Lux Strobe Balm I love a natural dewy highlighted look - preferably when I'm tanned. This strobing balm is stunning, and gives off a naturally highlighted look without looking too full on or 'tinny'. It is however pink toned and I would love to try a more golden/bronzed shade of this product because the formulation is lush. I apply it with a my index finger but blend it with my beauty blender and unl

Let Your Hair Down

I've found over the last month especially that I've been getting stressed way more than usual and work myself up over the most minor things. Now, I have a better way to approach these things and sort them without over stressing myself first. To some people what I get stressed over will be nothing but it doesn't take away the anxious feelings or my mind constantly ticking over. Each to there own as my mam would say. As ive found a way to manage all my little stresses I realised that self care/love is a HUGE part of relaxing and 'de-stressing' and this is just me babbling on about what now works for me. So first of all I now make time for myself and time for work. Two separate things. Obviously there may be time when im free of any work or the opposite and have to put in extra hours but as long as I till make time for myself its all good. So this means in 'work time' I have no media distractions and just get the work done, one less thing to worry abou

My Favourite Skincare Range

Image
For me this has to be the best product, be it skincare or makeup I've ever laid my hands on. It was recommended to me by a close friend after trying several different attempts at clearing my skin. I had tried prescribed creams & tablets, other well know acne treatment brands and general cleansing products. I ended up at one point using only Sudocrem or even stripping it back to using nothing. I tried EVERYTHING. This had been on going since I was about 13. My skin naturally started to clear the summer I was 16 and I had come to the end of my course of tablets so I just let it play out. Lasted about 7mths, before the breakout from hell. Now, im not saying I had the worst acne ever but what I am saying is I couldnt see my forehead for blemishes. My forehead chest and back were my main effected areas, everyone used to say "well atleast its hidden" funny that because im not concerned about what everyone else saw and was more concerned about what I could see and how I had
